Outline of my professional job experiences to date.

Jo-Eng Dairy ( 2012— Today )

Systems Administrator

I maintain a mission critical system that has to run 24/7 to monitor production and animal health.  This system is comprised of Windows and Linux machines.  I built out the network to cover full WiFi in all buildings and bridged locations with line of site.  I also set up and maintain an IPsec site to site VPN to incorporate the office and locations where animal monitoring is not capable of line of site with independent ISP.  I built and maintain a 32ch IP camera system to be used to monitor herds and machinery.  Also maintain a Windows XP system that operates a manure separation system through PLC modules allowing remote operation.

Security used in this location:

  • Hardware Firewalls
  • Network Backup Solutions
  • VPN server
  • VLANs
  • OS and Software security patching
  • Vulnerability Assessments
  • Software anti-virus and anti-malware

Vendors I have worked with during this employment include:

Birchen Farms ( 2015 — Current )

Systems Administrator

Since 2015 I have been doing IT and consulting for Birchen Farms.  I have designed a network system that connects multiple buildings over a few square miles to share WiFi and surveillance system resources.  I have installed and maintained an IP surveillance solution of 32 cameras, implemented NAS systems for the main office, built custom desktops for the main office, implemented VPN solutions to allow for remote payroll operations and connecting separated sites with independent ISPs, and provided many more solutions that are niche to the agriculture industry.

Security used in this location:

  • Hardware Firewalls
  • Network Backup Solutions
  • VPN server
  • VLANs
  • OS and Software security patching
  • Vulnerability Assessments
  • Software anti-virus and anti-malware

Ignition Games ( 2004 — 2010)

Project Manager

I was responsible for project management in the development of PC games.  I assembled demos for key events, server management, and many other remote systems requirements.  We created foundational work that allowed other game creators to make massively multiplayer online first person shooters and a fully functional flight simulator engine which was later licensed to other developers. I also negotiated licensing agreements with large corporations to allow us the use of licensed aircraft for our modern combat flight simulator.

During my tenure we were chosen to debut our flight simulator for the GreenEar (proximity voice engine) booth at E3. We polished up a multiplayer free flight demo that showcased the GreenEar capabilities.

Systems Managed:

  • Windows Server 2008 RC2
  • CentOS
  • PHP/MySQL
  • Apache
  • NSIS
  • Torque Game Engine Advanced (world design/torque scripting)

Vendors worked with:

  • Garage Games
  • GreenEar
  • TeamSpeak
  • Boeng
  • Eurofighter GMBH
